The Opportunity Alliance Nevada Youth Committee will consist of interested parties committed to serving on this ‘working committee’ and serving the mission of this committee. By building relationships with youth serving organizations, we will help young Nevadans ensure their financial well-being.

MISSION: To empower Nevada’s young people to become financially literate and fiscally independent, provide financial resources and education, and partner with youth serving organizations

VISION: To build a strong community of young Nevadans* who are financially empowered and prepared to take advantage of fiscal opportunities. NOTE: *Young Nevadans are people who are 2-24 years of age.

Programs

  • Nevada College KickStart Program
  • Getting Ahead
  • Get Smart About Credit (GSAC). The GSAC program is sponsored by the American Bankers Association Community Engagement Foundation and is a national campaign of volunteer bankers who work with high school students and young adults to raise awareness about the importance of personal finance skills. October is known as GSAC month and this year, Oct. 17 is GSAC Day.

Claim Your Child's KickStart Account Before It Expires...

Dear Parent,

If your child was in Kindergarten from 2013 through the 2019-2020 school year, they received a FREE $50 College KickStart account as a gift from the Nevada Treasurer’s Office.

You must claim your child’s KickStart account before it expires at the end of their 4th grade school year.

To claim your child’s account, please visit the KickStart website.  If you don’t know their KickStart ID, you can email OpportunityAllianceNV@gmail.com or call (702) 546-9880 for assistance.

The only information that you need to claim the account is your child’s KickStart ID, the zip code that they lived at when in Kindergarten, and an email address to receive statements about the account and instructions on how to use the money after graduation.
